WhatsApp Adds Events Home — Invite People Without the App

WhatsApp's new Events Home lets a host invite guests who don't have the app at all — they view and RSVP through a link instead.

Meta said on November 5, 2026 that it is updating Events on WhatsApp with a dedicated Events Home, reached from Settings, where a host creates an event, adds a cover photo and shares a link that works even for guests who have no WhatsApp account at all. That guest opens the link, sees the details and RSVPs without installing anything.

One Place for Every Event, Not a Buried Chat Message

Events Home lists every event a person created or was invited to, past and upcoming, instead of scrolling back through a group chat to find the details. Creating an event adds a cover photo and a shareable link in a few taps; a host can also set custom reminders and let a guest bring a plus one.

Guests Without WhatsApp Can Still RSVP

The real change sits outside WhatsApp: a shared link lets someone with no account view the event and respond. Meta says a host’s phone number stays hidden from guests they don’t already know, and a guest without WhatsApp only sees the event’s address after they RSVP; personal messages and calls stay end-to-end encrypted regardless.

What Meta Didn’t Spell Out

Meta’s own line is that updated Events “is rolling out to everyone over the following weeks” — it names no country order, no platform breakdown between Android, iOS and WhatsApp Web, and it doesn’t say whether a WhatsApp Business number creates events the same way a personal one does. Anyone not seeing the new Settings entry yet should update the app and check again in the coming weeks.

For Thai Sellers and Support Teams

  • If customers already sit in a WhatsApp group you run — a VIP list, a reseller group — try building your next launch or in-store sale as an event from that group and share the link instead of collecting numbers by hand.
  • Check Settings on the number your business already uses for the new Events entry; if it isn’t there yet, the older in-chat ”+ > Event” option still works.
  • Treat the RSVP list as a headcount, not a substitute for the follow-up each guest still needs — routing that back to a human or an AI Agent is what a unified inbox like 1CS’s is for (its WhatsApp connection steps are in Thai).
