Meta announced on October 14, 2026 that WhatsApp is rolling out “guest calling,” letting anyone join a WhatsApp voice or video call through a link, even without a WhatsApp account of their own. The feature is free, end-to-end encrypted and has no time limit, and it is reaching hosts gradually on the latest Android and iOS app — so it may take a few days before the option appears on every account.
How a Guest Joins Without an App
Only an account holder can start a guest call: the host opens the Calls tab, taps ”+”, and shares the link however they like. A guest with no WhatsApp opens that link in a browser, types their name, and waits until the host admits them — then joins a call of up to 32 people total, able to share their screen or react, but unable to see other participants’ numbers, message, or add anyone else. Meta says a Google Calendar and Outlook integration is coming “later this year” but isn’t live yet.

The announcement names no country rollout order, only that guest calling is “rolling out” now on the latest Android and iOS app, and it doesn’t confirm whether a guest can join from a mobile browser rather than a desktop one. Anyone who doesn’t see the ”+” link yet should update WhatsApp and check again in the coming days.
