Grab Thailand announced on October 7, 2026, that its “GrabFood x Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)” co-payment campaign, which ran June 15 through September 30, 2026, passed 20 million subsidized orders, with participating merchants’ average sales nearly doubling versus the prior cycle. Grab also disclosed that more than 275,000 merchants nationwide have tried its free “GrabMerchant AI Assistant” tool.

Order Volume Surged, and Grab Backs a November Extension

Beyond the 20 million orders, the number of shoppers redeeming the subsidy rose more than 40%, and participating-merchant count grew more than 40% too. Bangkok, Chonburi, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai and Nakhon Ratchasima led in redemptions, while Maha Sarakham posted the fastest growth at 2.5x spending, followed by Hua Hin, Hat Yai, Phayao and Nakhon Pathom. Grab says it supports the government’s decision to extend the scheme for another round, from October 1 through November 30, 2026, to keep stimulating local spending.

The Free Tool Behind the Adoption Numbers

GrabMerchant AI Assistant, launched in 2025, is free for every GrabFood merchant inside the GrabMerchant app. It analyzes a shop’s own sales data, best-selling menu items, peak ordering hours and customer behavior to support menu and promotion planning. Grab says over 275,000 merchants have tried it, about 55% (roughly 150,000) check it at least monthly, and more than 80% of merchants in the 60/40 campaign activated it. Merchants who use it regularly reported roughly 20% higher sales growth than those who don’t.

What GrabFood Merchants Should Check Before November 30

  • Open the GrabMerchant app and confirm whether your shop has turned on GrabMerchant AI Assistant — it’s free, and most merchants outside the 60/40 campaign still haven’t activated it.
  • Check your shop’s enrollment status in “Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)” before the extended window closes on November 30, 2026, so you don’t miss remaining redemptions.
  • Use the Assistant’s best-seller and peak-hour data to plan promotions for the rest of the extension instead of guessing.
  • If you also take orders over LINE OA or Facebook, share the peak-hour signal with whoever staffs chat, so support coverage matches the rush the data predicts.
