LINE MAN Wongnai unveiled “Wongnai Genie,” a free AI assistant for restaurants, at its “Merchant AI Accelerator” seminar in Bangkok on September 21, 2026, with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas opening the event. The tool is rolling out gradually and at no cost to restaurants already using Wongnai POS, LINE MAN Wongnai confirmed in a press release two days later.
What LINE MAN Wongnai announced
Wongnai Genie acts as a round-the-clock manager owners can query in plain language, per the company. It pulls sales and cost-profit data across every channel into one view, surfaces best-selling menu items and peak hours, helps schedule staff against demand, and recommends promotions and cost cuts, reaching owners through Wongnai POS Web Owner and the Manager app. Executives said future versions will add same-category benchmarking, CRM-driven customer analysis, and automated menu and price management. BEARHOUSE, a Thai dessert chain with 80-plus branches and 6.4 million cups sold a year, piloted the tool and reported a 15% efficiency gain, 20% less raw-material waste, and about an hour of front-of-house staff time saved daily. LINE MAN Wongnai’s stated goal is free access for over 520,000 restaurants nationwide.
Why it matters for Thai sellers and support teams
Most Thai restaurants running Wongnai POS also take orders and handle complaints over LINE OA, Facebook or both. A tool that flags peak hours and best-sellers from POS data is only useful if that same data reaches whoever is staffing chat during a lunch rush.
