LINE for Business announced on September 3, 2026 that it would overhaul the Business Profile page on every LINE Official Account starting October 28, 2026 (Thai time), replacing the Public/Private system and several existing fields. That date has now arrived: LINE’s own notice says the change takes effect gradually from October 28 onward, and warns that both the rollout schedule and the service’s details and terms “may still change.” Profile information saved but never published is deleted automatically once an account moves to the new format — it does not carry over.
What the New Format Changes
Business Profile Settings are reorganized into grouped categories — profile, visibility and accent color. Public and Private statuses are gone, replaced by Draft and Published; once a section is published, it can no longer be set back to Private, so the only way to hide it again is to delete it outright. Signboard, Announcements, Showcase and FAQ entries cannot be restored once removed under the new format and must be rebuilt from scratch. The Description field is replaced by a Status Message field, and the Ask a Question feature is discontinued entirely. Phone numbers are merged too: the Call button and the listed Phone Number field both now pull from the single number saved in profile settings. LINE’s notice also cuts saved News/Announcements capacity from 200 items to the latest 20, drops Pinterest, Spotify and Tumblr links without migrating them, and replaces every Footer Button Splash Label with one fixed “Add as friend” label.
What a Business Has Already Lost
LINE’s notice draws a hard line between published and unpublished content: items already published move into the new format and stay Published, but anything saved as a draft, or kept Private under the old system, is deleted rather than migrated. Coupons and Shop Cards that were active also start appearing on the profile automatically once an account reaches the new format, since Private no longer exists as a setting to hide them.
What to Check Now
- If your LINE OA’s Business Profile still shows the old Public/Private layout, the gradual rollout hasn’t reached your account yet — LINE’s notice says the schedule “may still change,” so check again in the coming days rather than assume you’re covered.
- Once your account switches over, confirm nothing you needed was deleted — a draft or a section set to Private before the switch is gone, not migrated, per LINE’s own notice.
- Check your Signboard, Announcements, Showcase and FAQ content now — LINE says none of it can be recovered once removed, so keep a copy elsewhere if you’d need to rebuild it.
- If your Call button and listed phone number used to differ, they now merge into the single number saved in profile settings — fix that number if it’s wrong.
- If you relied on the Description field, Ask a Question, or links to Pinterest, Spotify or Tumblr, none of those carried over to the new format.
This notice covers only the Business Profile page’s own settings — it doesn’t touch chat, broadcasts or the Messaging API, so teams running LINE OA conversations through 1CS’s unified inbox see no change there. Anyone who tracked the LINE VOOM shutdown or the Chat Ads API cutoff should read this the same way: LINE keeps retiring and rebuilding one surface at a time, on short notice.
