LINE's Reply API Will Charge Past 25,000 Messages

LINE will charge for automated LINE OA replies sent over the Messaging API past 25,000 a month, from 1 February 2027.

LINE for Business announced on October 30, 2026, that it is putting a price on Reply API — the automatic replies a connected chatbot or support system sends through the LINE Messaging API. From February 1, 2027, those messages stay free up to 25,000 a month; going over that needs a paid package booked through a LINE-approved Agency Partner.

Reply API Is Not Your Auto-Response Setting

LINE draws a specific line in its own notice: Reply API is a message your own system sends back automatically through the Messaging API connection, not the “Auto-response” toggle set directly inside LINE Official Account Manager. If a chatbot, helpdesk or inbox tool answers your LINE customers for you, those replies are Reply API messages and fall under this new quota — Auto-response set in OA Manager does not.

The New Quota and What It Costs

The free allowance is 25,000 Reply API messages a month, reset monthly with no rollover to the next month. Above that, LINE’s only path is an “Unlimited” package at 5,000 THB a month, sold through an Agency Partner that LINE has not yet named — it says a list and final payment terms are still to come. Moving an account to this new Agency Global Platform carries no migration fee and no extra Agency charge, per the notice.

What to Check Before February

  • Pull your LINE OA’s automated-reply volume for a typical month — from your chatbot or inbox platform’s own reporting, or by asking whoever built the integration — to see where you sit against 25,000.
  • If you’re close to or over that line, watch LINE for Business’s news page for the named Agency Partner list and register before February 1, 2027.
  • Budget 5,000 THB a month if the Unlimited package turns out to be necessary.
  • This quota is separate from your broadcast quota and from Auto-response — don’t assume checking one covers the other.

Any system that replies to LINE customers automatically through the Messaging API, including 1CS’s LINE inbox, sends Reply API messages, so the same monthly check applies there too.
