Google announced on October 13, 2026 that Gemini 4 Argon, its newest flagship model, is now live inside the Gemini app. The upgrade reaches Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers only — Google’s own plan comparison shows the free tier and the cheaper AI Plus tier staying on older, smaller models.
What’s New Besides the Model
Google says Argon “answers more directly with less hedging” and shares progress more often on long tasks. Alongside it, the app adds a chat-to-tasks toggle: switch to Tasks mode and Gemini keeps working on an assignment while you’re away from your computer, Google says. Gemini now also connects to more than 40 outside apps, including Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify, so a prompt can order groceries, book a table or touch a connected online store directly.
The Fine Print
Per Google’s own Google AI plans page, Argon access requires Google AI Pro (listed at $19.99/month in the US) or Google AI Ultra (from $99.99/month); the Free plan keeps only the lightweight Flash-Lite model, and the $4.99/month AI Plus tier gets Flash but not Argon. Google says the plans are offered in roughly 140 to 160-plus countries, but its page lists no Thailand-specific baht pricing — only a Thai language option. The coding-focused Antigravity interface mentioned alongside Argon is newly built into the Gemini macOS app specifically, per Google’s post.
What This Means for a Thai Business
- If your business already pays for Google AI Pro or Ultra — through a Workspace upgrade or a bundled Google One plan — Argon is already live in your Gemini app with no extra signup.
- Before relying on Tasks mode for anything customer-facing, test it on a low-stakes job first; Google hasn’t published limits on how long or how reliably a task runs unattended.
- Gemini’s new connected apps reach grocery and booking services and Shopify, but not LINE, Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp — the channels where Thai customers actually message a business, and what tools like 1CS’s unified inbox are built to centralize instead.
