ChatGPT Now Lets You Try On Clothes With a Selfie

OpenAI added a "Try on" button and a Favorites list to ChatGPT's shopping results on October 1, so anyone can preview an outfit before buying.

OpenAI rolled out two shopping features in ChatGPT on October 1, 2026: a “Try on” button that shows how clothing or an accessory would look on you, and a Favorites list for products you find. Both are live now on mobile and web, with no plan or country limit listed the way some other ChatGPT tools carry.

How try-on works

A “Try on” button appears on product listings for clothes and accessories. Tap it, upload a selfie, and ChatGPT renders you wearing the item with its new ChatGPT Images 2.5 model. The reference photo is saved for later try-ons; change or delete it in Settings → Personalization → Reference photos. It also works on items ChatGPT didn’t surface itself — upload a screenshot from any store, and ChatGPT will try that on too.

The fine print

OpenAI’s one caveat: the rendered image “does not guarantee fit or size” — a preview, not a measurement. Favorites saves any product to your ChatGPT Library or a folder, with its try-on image kept alongside it. Neither feature carries an age, plan or country restriction in OpenAI’s release notes.

What this means for Thai sellers

Because try-on works from any screenshot, a shopper can preview your product on themselves without opening your store — pulled from a photo on your Facebook, Instagram or LINE page, weeks after ChatGPT Ads launched in Thailand. Worth doing this week:

  • Run one of your own product photos through “Try on” to see what a shopper would actually get.
  • Keep product photos clear and front-on — a cropped or busy shot renders a worse try-on, and shoppers may judge the product by it.
  • Next time a customer asks “will this look good on me,” point them to it instead of guessing.

For sellers running chat through 1CS’s Omnichannel Inbox, the same sharp product photo shared in chat is what a customer might feed into this button next.
